Do you do special or one-off liveries?
As a general rule, no. If, however, you want something that can be added to the range - for example, a particular RTC Test Coach, please ask.
Do you do Trade Orders
As a rule, no due to the large range, much of which is printed to order. I am happy to recommend any popular lines if anyone would like to be a stockist.
How much is postage?
Currently, all orders are post-free within the UK. Overseas customers, please enquire.
Why don't you do pre-nationalisation stock in N?
The N Gauge range is primarily based around the Graham Farish BR Coach Range - Mark 1,2,3,4. These are produced with one-piece clear bodyshells that, once cleaned, are ideal for applying vinyls. Many older coaches, such as Gresleys have panelling that is just not suitable for the vinyling process. There are always exceptions - if you feel there is something that could be adapted from, say, a GF Mk1 - let me know!
How do I strip down a Graham Farish Coach?
Instructions are provided with every kit and there is an on-line guide here.
Which is the best N Gauge coach to use for your vinyls?
I have written a comprehensive guide to N Gauge Coaches, whcih can be downloaded here.
I want sides for xxxx on OO Scale - why don't you do them?
In order to produce the sides, I need access to the donor model. As I am first and foremost an N Gauge modeller, I may not have the OO donor vehicle to hand. If is is something that will really make a good addition to the range, let me know. If you are willing to lend me the base model for a couple of weeks, I can scan it for measurements and produce the vinyls.
Can you produce these ready-to-run for me?
It depends upon the availability of the donor coaches - please ask.
What's happening with the T Gauge?
Due to low sales and high complexity and overheads, I am winding down the T Gauge to what I have in stock. Please enquire before ordering.
Why doesn't your website have one-click ordering?
The Electra range is now about 800 items across three scales. Re-doing the website to incorporate on-line shopping would be very expensive and take a long time. I'd rather be modelling and producing great conversion kits! To order, just drop me an e-mail.
What's Coming Next?
I generally don't put anything on the website until it's ready to hit the market. There is an Electra Railway Graphics Facebook page that has details of future projects and what's on the workbench. You don't need to be a member of Facebook to view this content.
I've messed up a vinyl side - help!!
The new vinyls are very strong and hard to break (the same materials are used for RC cars). If you do have problems, please let me know and I will endeavour to sourcer a replacement as cheaply as possible.
There's something wrong with one of your vinyls!
There are two points here:
1) Livery or artwork inacuraccy: I will always try to make my products as accurate as possible but, just like the large manufacturers with their teams of researchers and designers, the odd mistake will creep in. Please let me know if you spot something - if it is a major howler, I will correct it for future production.
2) Many of my vinyls now are designed and sized to fit directly onto a RTR model AS CLOSELY AS POSSIBLE - please accept that there may be the rare occasion where a little fettleing is needed if any elements are slightly out.
Due to the material used, there is sometimes a little shrinkage and the vinyl may need a little teasing out and stretching to fit.
I always endeavour to do a test fit on anything new before release and will make the vinyls as accurate as I can. If you think you have a problem, please let me know and send me a photo if possible. If will fit the issue if it is genuine or offer a refund if you are not happy.
